Non-uniform day - Friday 18th February 2022
16th February 2022 Posted by Yardley Primary School
As usual for our last day of each half term, Friday 18th February will be a non-uniform day. Normally for non-uniform days we request a £1 donation for your child to wear non-uniform. The money raised on non-uniform days contributes to ‘school fund’. This is a fund which is used to provide additional resources and activities that our regular school budget isn’t always able to cover.
During the last couple of school years, we have not always requested this donation, unless we have been raising money for a specific charity. This has been due to the challenging circumstances many of our families have faced throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
To continue to support our ‘school fund’ and provide pupils with additional opportunities, we will be once again requesting donations for non-uniform days.
Friday 18th February 2022 will be a non-uniform day; a £1 donation is requested.
However, we are still mindful that for some of our families, circumstances are still challenging. Therefore, we understand if you are unable to make the donation at this time. Pupils are still welcome to participate if this is the case.
Thank you for your continued support.

Safer Internet Day 2022
3rd February 2022 Posted by Mr Walmsley
On Tuesday 8th February we will be joining schools and youth settings across the UK in celebrating Safer Internet Day 2022. Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people, and to inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically, and creatively.
Using the internet safely and positively is a key message that we promote in school, and celebrating Safer Internet Day is a great opportunity for us to re-emphasise the online safety messages we deliver throughout the year.
Visit our Safer Internet Day page to find out more and to see what we will be up to in school.

Year 5 Secondary School Applications
20th July 2021 Posted by Yardley Primary School
If your child is due to transfer from primary to secondary school in September 2022, you need to start think about secondary school applications. Local authorities co-ordinate secondary transfer admissions for all publicly funded (non-fee paying) schools. This means that parent/carers should apply to the local authority in which they live (the council to which they pay council tax).
If you live in Birmingham you should apply for your child’s secondary school place online at www.birmingham.gov.uk/schooladmissions between 1st September and 31st October 2021. It is important that you submit your application by 31st October 2021. Applications received after the national closing date of 31st October 2021 will be treated as late applications. Late applicants are less likely to be offered a place at one of their preferred schools, and these applications will be processed after 1st March 2022, in accordance with Birmingham’s coordinated admissions scheme.
