Year 5 Secondary School Applications

20th July 2021 Posted by Yardley Primary School

If your child is due to transfer from primary to secondary school in September 2022, you need to start think about secondary school applications. Local authorities co-ordinate secondary transfer admissions for all publicly funded (non-fee paying) schools. This means that parent/carers should apply to the local authority in which they live (the council to which they pay council tax).

If you live in Birmingham you should apply for your child’s secondary school place online at between 1st September and 31st October 2021. It is important that you submit your application by 31st October 2021. Applications received after the national closing date of 31st October 2021 will be treated as late applications. Late applicants are less likely to be offered a place at one of their preferred schools, and these applications will be processed after 1st March 2022, in accordance with Birmingham’s coordinated admissions scheme.

UNICEF Rights Respecting Silver Award

24th June 2021 Posted by Miss Pearson

On Tuesday 22nd June Yardley were assessed by Unicef to see if we could achieve our Silver (Rights Aware) award.

We achieved Bronze (Rights Committed) in December 2019, but, as you can imagine, the journey to Silver whilst dealing with COVID has not been an easy one!

The staff and pupils (including our wonderful JLT) have worked incredibly hard to secure this award - it is an achievement to be really proud of.

Our journey to Gold will begin in September!
