From 1st September 2025, we will no longer be using Facebook as a channel to communicate with parents and carers.

This decision has been made for the following reasons:

• We are consolidating our social media communications to a single channel, X (formerly known as Twitter), to streamline our processes and ensure consistent messaging.

• We have seen a lack of engagement on Facebook compared to X, making X the more effective platform for reaching our parent community.

• The cost of using paid software required to post to multiple social media accounts at once is unsustainable.

• Managing several social media accounts takes considerable time, which we want to dedicate to supporting our pupils and school community.

Next Steps for Parents:

• We strongly encourage all parents and carers to follow us on X (@yardleyprimary) for the latest updates, news, and announcements – further details below.

• Important information will continue to be shared via our usual channels, including email, newsletters, blogs and the school website – further details below.

• If you have any difficulty accessing X or have questions about this change, please contact the school office for support

How to receive a notification when we post something on X

2. From our account profile, tap the notification icon 🔔

3. Choose between three notification types:

   1. 1. All posts (we recommend this one)

      2. All posts and replies

      3. Only posts with live video
