We are delighted to let you know about an exciting development at Yardley Primary School. We have recently moved to a new Management Information System (MIS) called Arbor, which will help us manage school data more efficiently and improve communication with you.

What does this mean for you?

As part of this change, we now have a new parent portal that will give you secure online access to important information about your child. To begin with, to make the transition smoother for parents, we will only use this new Arbor parent portal for a few things – lots of things will stay as they are in ParentPay. Over time, we will introduce more features and gradually aim to bring all of our services in the Arbor parent portal.

What will be in the Arbor Parent Portal?

To begin with, the Arbor will be used for the following:

To give you access to your child’s details and your own. This will enable you to change things such as contact details yourself, without having to contact the school.
To book Parent Teacher Meetings. School no longer uses our old system (SchoolCloud) so you will need to use the Arbor portal to book a meeting for our next round of Parent Teacher Meetings, due to take place in March (details coming soon).
To send you emails and where necessary, text messages (replacing our current communication system).

In the future, Arbor will be used for lots more, including the following:

To give consents for your child for things like trips and visits.
To pay for things in school such as trips and clubs.
To view your child’s attendance record.
To book school meals.

There are also other things that Arbor can do that we may use over time, we’ll keep you posted when we do.

What do you need to do next?

We have already started to set up an account for you on Arbor. To access the portal, you need to finish creating your account by setting a password. To do this:

Check your email - you should have received an email from us which contains the email address used to create your account.
On your web browser on your phone, tablet, laptop or computer go to: https://yardley-primary-school-mis.uk.arbor.education or click the 'Log in' button on this page.
Click the link that say ‘First time logging in?’
Follow the on-screen instructions using the email address that we used to create your account (this is in the email we sent you).
You will be sent an email link to set your own password.
You can then log in to the parent portal.
