Statement of Intent

It is our intent that all pupils leaving Yardley Primary School are physically literate and have the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.  To achieve this, we have set up a plan for P.E. and sport in our school, incorporating the Primary P.E. and Sports Premium funding.

Sustainability

The professional development our staff receive with have a lasting impact on their teaching of P.E.  As a school we will be able to continue to deliver high quality P.E. lessons after the funding has ended due to the upskilling of our staff.  The continuing elevation of the profile of P.E. and sport in school ensures that it will always be given a high priority and will play a key part in helping our pupils achieve healthy lifestyles.  Competitive sport continues to establish itself as a key element within P.E. and sport in our school, with it now taking place within curriculum lessons and regularly outside of school.  The relationships built with other schools and agencies through this are now able to continue after the funding has ended.
