Grammar schools entrance test - 2024 admissions (Year 5 pupils)

Registration is now open for parents of current Year 5 pupils who would like their child to sit the entrance test for the Grammar Schools in Birmingham, for entry to Year 7 in September 2024.
Registration can be made online by visiting the West Midlands Grammar Schools website here.
The closing date for registering is 4pm on 30th June 2023.
The test will take place on 16th September 2023.
New Summer 2nd Half Term After School Clubs

We have emailed details of all of our brand new after school clubs, taking place next half term. There are lots on offer including:
Year 1: History & Geography / Dance
Year 2: History & Geography / Spanish
Year 3: Cricket
Year 4: Tennis
Year 5/6: Gaming & Miniatures
If you would like to apply for a place for your child, check your email for details and to access the online applications. Spaces are very limited and you will be notified if your child has been allocated a place. The closing date for applications is 21st May 2023.

Free holiday clubs for eligible pupils - Easter 2023

Is your child eligible for benefits-related free school meals?
And are you interested in a FREE Easter holiday club with lunch included held at Yardley Primary School for your child?
Or a FREE holiday club with lunch at another venue in Birmingham?
This Easter holiday for the first time ever, Sports Plus will be running a FREE holiday sports club (including lunch) at Yardley Primary School for children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.
Bring it on Brum (Birmingham City Council) is also running FREE activity clubs (including lunch) across Birmingham for children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.
Parents of eligible pupils will have received an email containing all of the details including how to book. If you are eligible, please check your email for this information.

Sports Team Point Winners - Spring 1

Our winning sports team for this half term is.... Team Gamma! They earned 111 team points through PE and sports!
Well done to all the pupils who are in Team Gamma, the trophy has the yellow ribbons on until next half term! 🏆
Here are the full results for this half term:
1st – 🟨 Team Gamma (yellow) – 111 points
2nd – 🟥 Team Omega (red) – 84 points
3rd – 🟦 Team Delta (blue) – 82 points

Early Help Coffee Morning

Yardley Primary School invites all parents/carers to a coffee morning where we will be joined by Abi Hastings, Community Connector for Early Help in Yardley. Parents/carers will get a chance to know more about Early Help, support for families, local services and events, signposting information and self-identification into Early Help.
Join us on Tuesday 7th March 9.00am - 10.00am.
Year 5/6 Netball Club Trials

Trials for this year's Year 5/6 Netball Club will take place next week.
Things to know:
Trials are open to boys and girls in Year 5 and Year 6.
Pupils should sign up for the trials in class, their teachers have a sign-up sheet.
There are only 18 places available at the club from across the whole of both year groups.
On the day of their trial, pupils should come to school in P.E. kit.
If selected, pupils must be available to attend the club after school on Thursdays. If pupils are not able to do this, please do not attend the trials.
Check the poster for date(s) and times for each year group.
Parents' Evening – Online Appointment Booking

We would like to invite you to attend our Parents Evenings to discuss your child’s progress with their class teacher. All of our appointments will now return to in-person appointments, taking place in your child's classroom. This will give you the opportunity to see your child's books and work. Bookings will still be made using our online booking system.
The evenings will take place on the following dates:
Wednesday 8th March 2023, 3.40pm - 6.50pm
Thursday 9th March 2023, 3.40pm - 5.30pm

Birmingham City Council Holiday Activities and Food Programme - February 2023

Birmingham City Council are delighted to offer two opportunities for children and families to join in some exciting events taking place across Birmingham during the February half-term holiday.
The events are aimed at children and young people in Birmingham aged 4-16 who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.
Come and Try Bring it on Brum! - from Monday 20th February to Friday 24th February
These FREE ‘taster’ sessions will allow children and families to experience some of the services and activities available through Bring it on Brum, and be encouraged to sign up for the Easter Summer, and Winter holidays!
There’ll be lots of activities on offer including sports and games, arts and crafts, dance and music, and sharing of information and advice for the whole family!
Bring it on Brum! Family Food Festivals - from Saturday 11the February to Sunday 26th February
These FREE events are designed to include a variety of practical demonstrations, workshops for children and adults alike, and offer information and advice on cooking for a family.
It’s simple to book and find out more about these events through the Bring it on Brum! website: www.bringitonbrum.co.uk
Bookings are being taken now and no HAF codes are required for these events.

A big thank you from our PTFA, Yardley Fundraisers, to everybody for supporting us with this event and helping to raise funds for our school!
