Yardley Fundraisers (our PTFA) are pleased to announce that our Christmas Fayre will return this year!
It will take place on Friday 8th December 2023, 4.30pm-7.00pm.
Our Christmas Fayre is our biggest event of the year, with lots of things going on. Some of these include:
Santa's grotto - an opportunity to meet Santa and receive a gift from him.
Year group stalls - each year group will be running a stall ranging from things to buy or games to play.
Stalls run by people from the community, selling a wide variety of gifts.
Hot food and refreshments.
Tombolas and a raffle. Full details of our raffle are on our raffle page, including details of our amazing prizes, including 4 tickets to West Midlands Safari Park and a £50 Amazon Voucher!
Games with prizes to be won
Please note: Our Christmas Fayre is cash only. Unfortunately we have no facilities to accept card/contactless payments.
Entrance to the fayre will cost 50p for adults and school age children, paid at the entrance to the fayre (cash only).
For our Christmas Fayre to work and for it to raise money, we rely on donations for certain stalls. We achieve this by holding a special ‘Bring a Donation’ non-uniform day. On this day, no money is required for your child to attend in non-school uniform, instead we ask for donations to support us with our bottle tombola, chocolate tombola and sweets stall. This year, our 'Bring a Donation’ non-uniform day will be held on Friday 1st December 2023.
To take part in our special non-uniform day, we are looking for one of the following donations:
A ‘bottle’ to be used in our Bottle Tombola. Alcoholic drinks, non-alcoholic drinks, bottles of pop, bottles of aftershave, bottles of shampoo – if it comes in a bottle then we need it! The only requirements are that the bottle is full/unopened and that it will be able to fit inside a standard bottle gift bag (this doesn’t need to be provided).
Chocolate for our Chocolate Tombola. Any variety, big or small – if it’s made of chocolate, we need it!
Sweets for our Sweets Stall. Again, any variety, big or small – if they are sweets of any kind we need them!
Donations should be brought in to school on the non-uniform day and given to the class teacher. There will be boxes in each classroom to place the donations in.
Other donations for our raffle and tombola will be very gratefully received either via your child’s class teacher or at the main office at any time. These are always extremely popular stalls and can raise a huge amount of money for school – but not without any prizes! Any unwanted items, gifts, toys or soft toys from around the house are ideal – it’s a good opportunity to have a clear out before Christmas! We will gladly welcome the following (in a useable condition):
Unwanted gifts
Toys
Soft toys
Small household items
Books
Raffle tickets have been sent home to you - if you haven't received yours, please ask your child's teacher or enquire at the school office.
Full details of our raffle are on our raffle page, including details of our amazing prizes, including 4 tickets to West Midlands Safari Park and a £50 Amazon Voucher!
If you are interested in having your own stall at the fayre, we do have some spaces available but these are very limited. As you can imagine though, we have very strict guidelines around what our stalls can sell so please don't be offended if we do not allow your stall at our fayre. The majority of our stalls from members of the public sell things such as craft items or Christmas gifts.
A few points to note:
Food/refreshment stalls are not permitted unless run by the school.
'Non-professional' (or 'hobbyist') stall holders only. 'Professional' stall holders are not permitted. The requirement from our insurance provider for this event is that ‘hobbyist' stall holder's income does not exceed £1,000 per annum. This is a monetary limit set by HM Government because of sole trader registration limits and the potential need for own Public Liability Insurance.
A stall includes 2 tables provided by us. Each table measures approximately 110cm x 54cm.
Your stall area will be marked out for you. Under no circumstances may your stall or your items be outside of your stall area.
Payments for stalls are non-refundable (unless the event is cancelled by the school).
Items sold must be appropriate for sale in a primary school. The school will decide whether this is the case. Your booking may be cancelled if the school considers your items to be inappropriate.
Payment for the stall (£15 cash) must be made to the school office in order to confirm your booking. Your booking may be cancelled and the stall offered to someone else if you have not made payment.
If you would like to enquire about having a stall, please email office@yardleyprimary.org, phone us on 0121 464 3235 or pop into our school office.
